Diesel Mechanic

Job Details Location: Reading, PA 19606 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day Job Category: Skilled Labor - Trades Our Berks County Division, located in Reading, PA, is currently searching for a Diesel Mechanic due to growth! Responsibilities Perform diagnostic, repair and maintenance on trucks, construction equipment, including auxiliary components in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. Knowledgeable in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment. Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs. Adhere to manufacturer’s warranty policies and procedures. Independent analysis and safe resolution of problems. Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling and replacing major assemblies, sub‑assemblies, components, parts or systems, such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics, etc. Complete machine shop operations; make adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units. Special projects and other job duties as assigned. Qualifications Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training or relative and transferable experience. Knowledge in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment. Ability to identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs. Ability to read, understand and interpret technical data via instruction manuals. Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and software. A valid driver’s license. Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment. Must be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Commercial Driving License (A or B) desirable. PA State Inspection License (highly desired). ASEs. Own tools.
