Position Details:

• Job Title: Phlebotomist II - 1st Shift
• Position: Patient Services Representative II (PSR II)
• Location: 2176-2204 Route 35, Sea Girt, NJ 08750
• Contract Duration: 3+ months, with possible extension and potential conversion to a permanent position
• Hours: 40 hours/week
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM

Position Summary:

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of Client's to patients and is responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established practices and procedures.

The PSR II interacts directly with patients, explains collection procedures, and performs blood collection in a safe, accurate, and professional manner. The position may be assigned to a doctor's office, Patient Service Center, or other location based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform blood specimen collection accurately, safely, and efficiently.
• Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.
• Verify patient demographic information and initials.
• Obtain the patient's signature after venipuncture to confirm tubes were labeled in the patient's presence and that the information is correct.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Complete daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Provide a positive and professional experience for patients, clients, employees, and the public.
• Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
• Travel between Patient Service Centers and in-office phlebotomy locations as required, potentially with minimal notice.
• Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience must include:
  • Pediatric collections
  • Geriatric collections
  • Capillary collections
• Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred .
• Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data-entry experience.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime based on staffing needs.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
