Security OfficerRome Health is seeking a dependable and professional Security Officer to join our Security team at our main campus. This position is primarily scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; however, flexibility is required to assist with coverage for vacations, call-ins, and other staffing needs.The security officer will maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property while providing exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting.Key ResponsibilitiesPatrol hospital property and monitor surveillance systems to maintain a safe and secure environmentRespond promptly and professionally to hospital emergency codes, including fire alarms, security assistance calls, and active threat situationsControl vehicle and pedestrian traffic as neededInvestigate incidents, security breaches, and suspicious activityComplete detailed reports documenting observations, incidents, and security activitiesPerform routine inspections and assist with preventive maintenance of security equipmentProvide assistance and support to patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining professionalism and confidentialityQualificationsValid New York State Security Guard License (Guard Card) requiredBasic computer skills requiredStrong communication and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to remain calm and professional in emergency situationsPrevious healthcare or security experience preferred, but not requiredPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 4 hours at a timeAbility to lift up to 15 poundsRome Health is a nonprofit healthcare system serving patients throughout Central New York.
