Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Technicians to support our customers in multiple locations. This position requires the successful candidate to report to a site location. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. It may involve participation in a primary responder rotation, which includes monitoring the data center infrastructure, coordinating response to operational incidents, and partnering with other teams to rapidly resolve issues that impact service availability. Primary responder responsibilities may require evening, weekend, holiday, and/or night work to ensure our global data centers are operating at the highest levels of reliability for our customers. Key Job Responsibilities Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed. Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors. Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities. Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues. Help to train and onboard new team members. Typical Day Take ownership of technical issues brought by the customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution. Solve problems at their root and step back to understand the broader context. Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting. Work Environment & Requirements Work shift work including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Travel within and outside of the regional work area; possess reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license. Primary responder rotation may include evening, weekend, holiday, and/or night work, with after‑hours support as needed. Physical requirements include regular lifting of up to 40 pounds (41+ for group lifts), work in cramped/elevated/noisy environments, bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day, and ascending/descending ladders and stairs safely. Basic Qualifications 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience. 1+ years of computer networking experience. High school or equivalent diploma. Preferred Qualifications Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure. Experience with hardware and network repair, equipment installation, and documentation creation. Experience with primary responder rotation and after‑hours support. Final starting pay will be based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
