Data Center Operations Specialist

Salary: $110,000 - 150,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a high school diploma or GED equivalent, along with technical training or a degree.
• We prefer at least 5 years of related experience in a technical, electrical, or mechanical field.
• We need the ability to interpret design and construction documents for critical sites, spaces, and systems, and to work with design or project management teams to keep record drawings current.
• We expect proficiency with basic computer tools and software, including MS Office and email.
• We require strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
• We need the ability to operate, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and service building infrastructure systems for continuous operation, including electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, environmental controls, construction-related items, and digital systems.
• We prefer experience working on energized equipment.
• We need the ability to stay professional and composed during service emergencies.
• We require solid knowledge of mission critical systems, including HVAC, standby emergency power, uninterruptible power supplies, and computer room air conditioning/handling, as well as how these systems work together to deliver 100% uptime.
• We prefer knowledge of data hall power distribution, cooling, and networking fundamentals.
• We prefer familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms.
• We need a strong understanding of mission critical system operations, maintenance, engineering, design principles, practices, and procedures.
• We require the ability to assess building and infrastructure status, diagnose and resolve alarms, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze multiple options in changing situations.
• We require rotating on-call availability 24/7/365, with shift adjustments as needed.
• We require the physical ability to lift up to 80 lbs, work at heights, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, work overhead, and operate in extreme hot or cold conditions.
• We require the ability to climb ladders, including up to 30 feet, while carrying tools.
• We require the ability to sit and type for extended periods.
• We require a valid state drivers license.
• We require authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• We require compliance with site-based vaccination requirements if offered the role.

• We operate and maintain all mechanical, electrical, and building infrastructure within a mission-critical data center.
• We monitor and run equipment to help deliver 100% uptime for the data center.
• We perform installation, repair, and maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing/piping equipment, machinery, and controls inside and outside the building.
• We conduct routine and ongoing reviews of building systems performance and operating conditions.
• We self-perform repairs and maintenance on building infrastructure systems, excluding major OEM teardown maintenance.
• We carry out tests, rounds, and data analysis to verify proper equipment operation.
• We oversee vendors and contractors during annual OEM preventive maintenance and repairs.
• We follow all critical environment management programs, policies, processes, and protocols to support reliability and uninterrupted site availability.
• We comply with supervisor instructions designed to protect the critical load and maintain continuous site operation.
