Rhino Medical is seeking board eligible or certified Emergency Medicine Physicians for an ongoing locum tenens role supporting a Level I trauma center in Kansas City, Missouri. This position offers flexible scheduling including days, nights, and weekends, with varied shift durations across the main hospital and affiliated FSEDs. The role involves managing high-acuity cases, trauma, and transfer patients, utilizing standard ER procedures, and working in a fast-paced, diverse environment.

• Shift times: 6:00–16:00, 10:00–20:00, 15:00–01:00, 20:00–06:00
• Flexible to work days, nights, and weekends at main hospital and affiliated FSEDs
• Shift durations: less than 12 hours at main hospital, 12 hours at FSEDs


Practice Environment


This role supports a main hospital campus and affiliated outpatient FSEDs in Kansas City, MO. The facility manages approximately 106 patients daily, with a focus on trauma and high-acuity cases, including transfers from other hospitals. The environment features occasional psychiatric assessments, including use of robots, and staff levels vary per shift, with no pediatric support staff available.


Clinical Responsibilities


• Evaluation, stabilization, and management of emergency patients
• Handling of trauma, including penetrating injuries and other high-acuity cases
• Performing all standard ER procedures
• Coordination of patient transfers from referring hospitals
• Managing a broad case mix with diverse presentations and procedures
• Documentation within the electronic medical record system


Candidate Requirements


• Active Missouri medical license
• MD degree
• Board certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
• ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications (taken once)
