Environmental Monitoring Position

Performs environmental monitoring activities such as water quality monitoring, zooplankton sampling, macro invertebrates sampling, etc.

Serves as a crew member on a team performing field tests and surveys involving the collection of water quality and lake sediment data from a boat and bridge crossings at standardized sample locations and occasionally on the Missouri River.

The position requires travel to remote boat ramps along the Kansas City District. Work days are usually long and overnight stays are often required. Working conditions can be difficult due to weather events and exposure to heat and sun.

Serves as a crew member on a team performing field tests and surveys involving the collection of fisheries and water quality data from a boat on the Kansas City District Lakes and rivers.

Assists with laboratory duties including preparing for planned water quality field work, using lab equipment, assisting with boat maintenance, and maintaining clean and safe conditions at the lab.

Assists with preparation of reports on status of assessment field tests and justifications for changes in operating procedures.
