Desktop Publishing SpecialistOffice Systems | Tallahassee, FLMinimum starting salary $35,464.51 with an excellent benefits package including employer paid pension contribution | Employees of The Florida Bar are eligible to apply for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF).Summary function: Designs and produces materials for Bar staff needs.Required minimum education: High School Diploma (or its equivalency).Required minimum professional work experience: Three (3) years of graphic design and desktop publishing experience.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Design and prepare digital and print-ready materials for various Bar departments (newsletters, brochures, CLE brochures and News ads, pamphlets, flyers, signs, materials for meetings, etc.).Design and prepare materials for Meetings Department (Annual Convention and Midyear Meeting).Coordinate, track and schedule materials needed for preparation of layouts. Choose appropriate fonts and illustrations, consult with other staff and some outside people (editors) regarding designs and layout.Edit layouts; design web graphics as neededProcess pre-existing form letters for various departments throughout the Bar, via MS Word.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge:Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro)Correct grammar, spelling and punctuationPrinciples of graphic designWorking knowledge of MS WordSkills:Desktop publishingDesignTypographyProfessional office equipment (e.g., multiple printers, scanner, etc.)Abilities:Prioritize, plan, organize and coordinate work assignments to meet multiple, often overlapping deadlinesCreate ADA compliant forms and documents using AdobeEstablish and maintain a professional, courteous and effective working relationship with coworkers and other staffDemonstrate initiative in group and individual projectsTactfully handle multiple requests for change on individual projectsManage stressful situationsFunction well under pressure and as a part of a teamConsistently provide a service-oriented demeanorPlease notify HR, in advance, if you need reasonable accommodations to participate in the employment process.EOE.
