Work Environment

This position is based onsite in a school environment, where you will collaborate closely with educators, school counselors, and other healthcare professionals to create a supportive atmosphere for students and their families. The full-time schedule runs from 9 am to 5 pm, allowing you to maintain regular business hours while making a substantial impact on young lives. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations to accurately diagnose mental health conditions in children and adolescents.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to provide effective medication management, monitoring treatment responses, and adjusting prescriptions as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with primary care providers, school staff, and mental health team members to deliver integrated care that addresses both mental and physical health needs.
• Provide crisis intervention to students and families during emotional or psychological distress, ensuring timely and appropriate support.
• Engage in community outreach efforts, educating and promoting mental health awareness through workshops and programs within the school and local communities.
• Offer therapeutic support through individual counseling sessions and psychoeducational programs tailored to the needs of the student population.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring high standards of patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with children, adolescents, and their families, providing focused care that considers the specific challenges and stressors they face. Given the school setting, you will address a variety of mental health concerns, from anxiety and depression to behavioral issues and trauma-related disorders. Your role is vital in fostering a supportive environment that prioritizes the mental wellness of students.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• A valid state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a psychiatric specialization.
• Demonstrated knowledge of psychiatric principles and practices, particularly within a school or community health context.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse patient populations and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in a community health center or educational environment focused on mental health is preferred.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and cultural competency in mental health service delivery.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 200,000 to 250,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
