Understands the impact of their words and actions and use that understanding for the benefit of the team.About The RoleJob Purpose: As a Chassis Working Lead you will lead a Chassis Team in a hands-on role to produce products in compliance with quality, safety, and productivity requirements. You will work with a team of professionals to ensure chassis assembly and upfitting work, including installing PTOs, pumps, hydraulic lines, wiring, and in-cab electrical components, in accordance with specifications and safety standards. Your attention to detail, ability to work with precision tools and equipment, and ability to manage day-to-day planning, operations, and problem-solving will be essential to the team's success of building correctly, on time, and ready for assembly. You will be expected to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.Essential FunctionsAll essential functions for either a Mechanical Assembler III, Electrical Assembler III or Electro-Mechanical Assembler II.Carries out supervisory responsibilities, including training and development; planning, assigning, and directing work; approving weekly timecards; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and coaching and counseling.Manage consumable usage in the assembly department and stay within the established budget.Oversees safety regulations by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; secures tools, materials, and equipment at the end of the day.Lead day?to?day chassis preparation activities on the floor.Perform hands?on mechanical and electrical prep work as neededReceive and inspect incoming chassis for damage, accuracy, and completenessEnsure work follows standard work, drawings, and work instructionsCoordinate task sequencing to support production flow and assembly scheduleTrain and support team members on chassis processesCommunicate issues related to quality, material, or engineeringManage projects and timelines based on production schedules.Lead and direct the work of others as required to complete the chassis.Contributes to team effort by actively participating in department meetings.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.General maintenance on equipment and the assigned area in the department, as well as organizing and cleaning the shop.Qualifications and Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Demonstrates good judgment and intuition of group dynamics.Skills & QualificationsA minimum of five years of mechanical/electrical repair, combined with leadership experience in a formal or informal capacity. High school diploma or equivalent.Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to co-workers, management, vendors, suppliers, and customers.Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, management, suppliers, and customers.Proficient in Microsoft Office, CSI systems, and workplace technology toolsAbility to maintain confidentiality.Ability to read and interpret documents such as job orders, procedure manuals, and schematics (blueprints).Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to create documented processes and procedures.Skill in the fabrication, joining, and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures, and structures.Ability to use department equipment, such as forklift, ladder/scaffold, overhead crane, power tools, and copy machine.Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. In addition, other elements that an employee could be exposed to frequently in this work environment are, but not limited to, dust, dirt, fumes and odors, mechanical and electrical hazards, fire hazards, and an elevated workplace. This position requires infrequent travel, which may involve exposure to extreme weather elements.Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, overtime can be scheduled before or after regular shift hours with occasional Saturday work.
