3D CAD Modeler

Job Title: 3D CAD Modeler – Integrated Topside Design (ITD) Key Responsibilities Support Integrated Topside Design (ITD) CAD model development of ship platforms, exterior systems, and antenna installations for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division. Create and update 3D models of U.S. Navy ships, including shipboard laser 3D scanning and models used for computational electromagnetic (CEM) modeling and analysis. Minimum Qualifications At least 3 years of experience performing parametric modeling with Autodesk Inventor Professional (or equivalent: SolidWorks, CATIA, Pro‑E, NX, Solidedge with an Inventor Essentials certificate). At least 1 year of experience performing product data management with Autodesk Vault Professional, including file/folder permissions, version history, check‑in/check‑out, revision control, workflows, and product lifecycle states. Demonstrated 3D CAD model development for ship design, using technical data to create models, reverse engineering native CAD models, and assembly modeling with >1,000 components. Experience with DoD, ASME, ANSI and other military standards. Active Secret U.S. Government clearance; U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience modeling commercial antennas, lights, or cameras. Experience modeling ship hulls, hull components, masts, ship structure, or weapon systems. Compensation US: $85,000 to $105,000. Actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and applicable laws.
