Position Overview In alignment with ComWell’s Mission, Vision, and Values, the Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides direct care and support to individuals with behavioral health and/or intellectual disabilities. This role assists individuals with daily living activities, community involvement, skill development, and personal growth while promoting independence in a safe and supportive environment. The DSP works as part of a team to provide trauma‑informed, person‑centered services that enhance the health, well‑being, and quality of life of individuals served. Key Responsibilities Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility Support implementation of client‑centered plans and document progress toward goals Monitor client health, behavior, and overall functioning and communicate changes to appropriate staff Assist with behavior support plans and crisis intervention as needed Provide instruction and support with life skills, social skills, money management, and community integration Advocate for individuals and encourage independence and self-advocacy Transport individuals to appointments, community activities, employment, and program services using agency vehicles Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with agency policies and procedures Participate in team meetings; trainings; and quality improvement initiatives Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Proof of 8th grade education required; High school diploma or GED preferred DSP certification required within 120 days of hire Strong communication and interpersonal skills Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DOT physical required Physical Requirements Ability to perform essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance Ability to frequently move, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs or more Compensation : $19.60 per hour #J-18808-Ljbffr Comwell
