RN Cardiac Telemetry

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide skilled nursing care primarily on the 4 South Cardiac/Telemetry unit, with occasional floating to various Med-Surg units including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Respiratory, Observation, and ED/Med-Surg boarders. This role demands proficiency in telemetry monitoring, strong clinical judgment, and effective collaboration within the interdisciplinary team. The RN is responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and maintaining accurate documentation using the Epic EMR system. A minimum of 3 years of recent telemetry or stepdown experience and current certifications in BLS and ACLS are required. Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care on the Cardiac/Telemetry unit and other Med-Surg units as needed.
  • Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and interpret telemetry data accurately.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Document all patient care activities accurately in the Epic EMR system.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Respond to patient needs and emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Ohio.
  • Minimum 3 years of recent telemetry and/or stepdown nursing experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Proficiency with Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret telemetry monitoring data.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience working in multiple Med-Surg specialty areas such as Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, and Respiratory.
  • Strong interdisciplinary communication and teamwork skills.
  • Previous experience with patient care in emergency or observation settings.
Special Considerations:
  • Night shift work from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
  • 36 hours per week with every other weekend required.
  • No on-call requirements.
  • Strict Epic EMR proficiency required; no refresher or 1:1 training options.
  • Competency testing on telemetry monitoring on day one; failure to pass will result in termination.
Scheduling:
  • 36 hours per week on the night shift (7:00 PM 7:30 AM).
  • Every other weekend required.
  • Schedule is fixed with no call responsibilities.
