Radiology Technologist

Position Summary: The Radiology Technologist performs and processes various radiographic and fluoroscopic radiology tests, contributing to patient care through diagnostic imaging.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program.
• Previous experience as a radiology technician is required.
• Basic computer operational skills.
• Physical strength to assist with lifting, moving, and positioning patients, as well as handling equipment and supplies.
• Ability to work effectively with others, maintaining a positive attitude, especially when assisting individuals under physical or emotional stress.
• Proficient in hearing verbal communications, reading, interpreting orders, and accurately documenting data.
• Current certification as a radiology technician.
• Meets American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS certification every two years.

Position Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Performs radiological tests as scheduled, demonstrating appropriate skills and a thorough understanding of all equipment.
• Obtains images using the proper equipment and knows how to transfer images to PACS.
• Documents tests and procedures through computer systems.
• Assists with various office and clinical functions including supporting anesthesia aides, managing materials, performing pregnancy tests, EKGs, BSGs, and participating in case cart checks.
• Monitors radiology supplies, equipment certification, maintains a lead apron log, reports malfunctions, and manages routine equipment maintenance.
• Checks the OR schedule daily and collaborates with the Clinical Supervisor and Nurse Manager for radiology or other clinical coverage as needed.
• Possesses knowledge of aseptic techniques while performing tests during surgical procedures.
• Ensures confidentiality of all records and information obtained during work activities.

Non-Essential Functions:

• Performs related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
