Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Department registered nurses are needed for a rural healthcare facility in Dickinson, North Dakota. This position involves providing care for antepartum, labor, postpartum, and neonatal patients, following established clinical guidelines and protocols. The role emphasizes teamwork, provider consistency, independence, and effective communication within a small hospital setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours, with every third weekend and holidays as needed, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as an RN, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Clinical Responsibilities: Monitoring and assisting with laboring patients, providing postpartum care, and supporting neonatal stabilization, including neonatal vent management such as CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen.
• Patient Population: Patients over 35 weeks gestation in labor, couplets of mother and baby.
• Unit Details: Four L&D beds, seven postpartum beds, follow AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) guidelines for staffing ratios.
• Equipment and Procedures: Troubleshooting neonatal vent equipment, electronic fetal monitoring (EFM system OB Trace Vue), and assisting with cesarean sections.
• Additional Notes: This rural hospital is over one hour from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with limited services. Successful nurses excel in teamwork, communication, independence, and knowledge of obstetric and neonatal care. Floating to Emergency Department and MSP for additional support may be required.
• Other Requirements: Self-scheduling through block scheduling, with a radius restriction of 50 miles. Candidates may not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organizations network. RTO (Request for Time Off) must be requested upfront, with a maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract.
