We are a team of fun‑loving people that are dedicated to water safety. As a swim instructor you will be trained to teach swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3‑month old, following the British Swim School aquatics program that is gentle, fun, and progressive. You will be assigned to a class schedule developed by manager(s) and interact with swimmers, parents and/or guardians. Your Typical Responsibilities Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment Works a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3pm-7pm), weekends (8am-1pm), and holidays as required by business needs Works in an environment where noise levels are moderate to high and is in the water for the duration of the shift Minimum Qualifications High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion Enthusiastic personality Flexibility and ability to thrive on ambiguity Comfortable in and around the water; strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics‑specific training and testing Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children Swimming experience: 1‑2 years preferred but not required Customer service skills: 1 year preferred Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certifications preferred (can be obtained during training) About Us Here at British Swim School, we are more than just a fun, surface‑level swim lesson provider. While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary‑aged kids. Instructors should enjoy working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It’s helpful to have experience with children or a child‑focused job, but it’s not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach. We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you’re not in the pool. These roles focus on providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool.
