This is a fully onsite position located in Woodland Hills, CA working a 9/80 schedule.What You’ll get to Do:Manage a team of Sensor Engineers supporting the engineering design, development, and transition to production of inertial navigation systemsOwn and continuously improve processes defining best practices for design of various inertial sensor typesInterface with program leads to coordinate staffing requirements and ensure proper skill mix is provided to execution teams in timely fashionProvide guidance and oversight in developing technical and cost proposalsMentor direct reports and drive their professional growth through goal setting and career planningResponsible for all manager related activities including, but not limited to: conducting performance and salary reviews, approving timecards, performance management, and working closely with HR on elevated employee mattersBasic Qualifications Sensors Systems Engineering Manager 2:Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 6 years of relevant experience.Experience in development of advanced sensors for aerospace and/or defense applicationsExperience leading a team on a technical development effort or technical production supportUnderstanding of Systems Engineering and project management tools such as DOORS, MS Project, etc.Experience with Systems Engineering processes, procedures, and best practicesExperience with generating and/or reviewing cost estimates/basis of estimates (BOEs)The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance is required within a timeframe set forth by managementMust be able to work full-time onsite in Woodland Hills, CA.Preferred Qualifications Sensors Systems Engineering Manager 2:Master’s Degree in a technical field with 6 years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment or PHD with 3 years of experienceDemonstrated understanding of the physics that enable different sensor technologies used in inertial navigation systemsDemonstrated experience in inertial sensor development, fiber optics, ring laser gyros, and sensor electronicsDevelopment and implementation of processes to ensure product development efficiency and accuracyA proven track record of leading a team of engineers and of establishing strong relationships with other functional organizations and Program OfficesExperienced with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, such as Siemens Teamcenter EnterpriseExperienced with failure analysis techniques and methods (RCCAs)Technical project management with budget/EVMS experienceExperience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)Experience authoring and reviewing technical proposalsExperience with engineering planning, scheduling, metrics, earned value systems, and workload forecastingActive DoD Secret clearancePrimary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
