A thriving industrial products facility is in need of a reliable second-shift assembly team member to construct, inspect, and ready engineered reel-style products and related subassemblies. Ideal candidates will enjoy practical production tasks, take pride in precise assembly, and adhere to instructions in a collaborative manufacturing setting.

This role combines mechanical assembly, basic electrical-related tasks, parts recognition, measuring, quality checks, material management, and production documentation. Individuals with previous assembly, shop, equipment, blueprint, drill press, saw, soldering, or hand tool experience are preferred. However, those with strong mechanical skills and a willingness to learn will also be considered.

Primary Responsibilities

• Construct engineered product units and smaller components following work orders, pack slips, standard procedures, and production instructions.
• Utilize hand tools, measuring devices, small shop equipment, and production machines for assembly, repairs, and preparation.
• Work with tools like drills, saws, welding equipment, rivet tools, soldering equipment, and more to complete tasks.
• Read and interpret engineering prints, assembly drawings, part descriptions, instructions, and material lists for accuracy.
• Identify standard and metric hardware, understand bolt and socket relationships, and select materials correctly.
• Measure parts and assemblies using tools like tape measures, calipers, test equipment, scales, etc.
• Conduct inspections to ensure product quality and identify issues before continuing production or shipping.
• Handle, count, label, and organize parts or finished products with care to prevent errors or damages.
• Keep accurate records, communicate material needs, and ensure work areas remain clean and organized.
• Report any equipment issues, safety hazards, or quality concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with the team, contribute to production targets, and suggest improvements.
• Perform additional assigned production, assembly, inspection, or support tasks as needed.

Experience and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and some relevant work experience preferred.
• One to three years of mechanical, electrical, or production experience desired.
• Ability to use measuring tools, follow procedures, and read instructions accurately.
• Basic math skills and an ability to follow detailed instructions required.
• Previous experience with blueprint reading or tools is a plus.
• Must be reliable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and work well in a team environment.
• No certification or supervisory responsibilities expected.
