Legal Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable File Clerk to join our growing team. This role begins as a 13-week contract opportunity with strong potential for conversion to a full-time employee based on attendance, performance, and overall fit with the team. The position is heavily focused on high-volume mail sorting, document organization, and administrative support.

Responsibilities

• Sort and organize high-volume mail and documents.
• Provide administrative support within the mailroom and main operations area.
• Review incoming client case documents and alphabetize files.
• Identify case types and update tracking sheets in the case management system.
• Maintain attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using computers, including Excel and case management software.
• Adapt to learn additional responsibilities as training progresses.

Essential Skills

• Mail processing and administrative support experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Three or more years of administrative experience, with previous experience in a law firm being a plus.
• Ability to be cross-trained on multiple job functions and support the team where needed.
• Capability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
• Basic computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Previous mailroom or file clerk experience is preferred.

Work Environment

The position requires working onsite from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. The dress code is business casual, with jeans allowed on Fridays for Casual Friday. The role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity within a growing immigration law firm, with potential for growth into a lead role. The company culture includes several lunch and group activities, with quarterly team outings.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
