2nd Shift Production Lead

2nd Shift Production Lead Location: Pearland, TX 77047 Work Arrangement: Onsite Shift Hours: 2:30 pm – 1:00 am, Monday – Thursday Lead Responsibilities Participate in all plant safety initiatives, report potentially unsafe conditions, and abide by corporate and local policies. Apply lean manufacturing principles and techniques, including kaizen events and 5S activities, and continuously seek improvement. Collaborate with the Production Supervisor and Lead People to manage staffing assignments to meet customer demand and production schedules. Lead employee training to ensure procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements. Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, material, and labor to the Manufacturing Supervisor. Attend and contribute to shift hand‑off meetings. Work collaboratively with Supply Chain, Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and other departments to resolve issues. Machining Responsibilities Run CNC machinery and work from drawings, sketches, and specifications to complete various machining operations. Obtain required inspections on first pieces of a run according to prescribed procedures and perform inspections on work‑in‑progress pieces. Maintain all necessary records of time, part counts, first‑piece inspections, and requisition forms for each job. Provide guidance and training to lower‑level machinists. Minimum Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be able to measure parts using micrometers, calipers, or other measuring tools. Ideal Candidate 8+ years in a manufacturing environment. Strong leadership experience. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Strong organizational skills and commitment to maintaining 5S standards. Excellent verbal and written communication. Physical Requirements Walks, stands, reaches, and bends frequently. Periodic lifting of moderate to heavy items (no more than 30 lbs). Possesses good hand/eye coordination. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, and hearing protection as required.
