We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join an experienced therapy team in Farmington, Maine.

This 82-bed skilled nursing facility provides post-hospital rehabilitation, short-term therapy, long-term care, and respite services. The clinical team is dedicated to helping individuals recover from illness or injury while providing the specialized support needed to maintain function and independence.

• Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on resident needs and functional goals

• Provide skilled therapy to residents with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders

• Support residents experiencing cognitive decline and dementia through individualized interventions

• Implement strategies that promote functional communication and cognitive wellness

• Assess swallowing function and provide appropriate dysphagia interventions

• Collaborate with the therapy team on fall-risk management and functional safety

• Participate in environmental and home-safety discussions when appropriate to the resident’s discharge needs

• Educate residents, families, caregivers, and staff on effective communication, cognition, and swallowing strategies

• Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and treatment planning

• Monitor resident progress and modify interventions as needed

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation

• Promote resident dignity, independence, safety, and quality of life

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

• Current or eligible Maine SLP licensure

• ASHA certification or eligibility preferred

• Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills

• Interest in geriatric rehabilitation, cognitive wellness, and dysphagia management

• Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
