Are you a hands-on maintenance and facilities leader who thrives in a manufacturing environment? We are seeking a  Facilities Manager to lead facility maintenance, equipment reliability, capital improvement projects, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting safe and efficient plant operations.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing facility maintenance, equipment repairs, preventive maintenance programs, capital projects, grounds maintenance, and maintenance personnel. This role plays a critical part in supporting production operations, driving efficiency improvements, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians and oversee daily maintenance activities.
• Manage facility, equipment, and building maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Drive preventive maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions that reduce downtime and improve productivity.
• Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, utility costs, and capital expenditures.
• Coordinate facility improvement projects, equipment upgrades, layout changes, and contractor work.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with engineering and production teams to identify and implement process improvements.
• Maintain facility security systems and oversee grounds maintenance, including janitorial services, lawn care, and snow removal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing maintenance, facilities, or engineering.
• 3-5 years of leadership or management experience.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based in a manufacturing facility in West Des Moines, Iowa. Regular time on the production floor is required, including walking, standing, and exposure to standard manufacturing conditions. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, with additional hours and Saturdays as needed to support production demands. This is  NOT a remote position.
