Parking Supervisor

Supervisory Position for City Facility Ambassadors

Under direction, is responsible for performing supervisory duties over an assigned work shift of City Facility Ambassadors. This position is also responsible for overseeing the daily collections of large amounts of money. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff. Work Location Center City Development & Operations - 400 N. St. Mary's, Suite 100, San Antonio, TX (78205) Work Hours 4-week rotational schedule consisting of mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepares shift work, and schedules assignments for City Facility Ambassadors.
• Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned employees.
• Prepares daily collection report for money collected; may conduct audits and account for all vehicles entering/exiting parking facilities.
• Resolves customer complaints and conflicts, often speaking with and carefully listening to them to address their concerns.
• Makes periodic inspections to ensure proper employee performance and communicates using a two-way radio when needed.
• Coordinates the opening and closing of parking lots.
• Spot checks upkeep of parking facility and reports problems.
• Prepares written activity reports on assigned shift.
• Supervises the maintenance of work areas to ensure safe and efficient place.
• Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
• One (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience in a customer service-related field.
• Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to operate small hand tools.
• Experience working with parking access and revenue control systems.
• Experience using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience supervising multiple locations at once.
• Ability to set and manage team expectations.

Applicant Information

• Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

• Knowledge of vehicle operation safety procedures and techniques.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, practices and techniques.
• Knowledge of complaints handling procedures and techniques.
• Ability to supervise employees involved in cash handling.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Ability to deal with sensitive and stressful situations.
• Ability to operate a personal computer and a word processor.
• Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position with or without accommodations.
• Working conditions are indoor and outdoor with frequent exposure to temperature variations, dust and fumes.
