Job Description

Duties:

• You will assist skilled and semi-skilled trade workers by performing the simpler duties of the trade, i.e., obtaining tools, plans and materials.
• You will assist others in performing trade tasks such as disassembly, repair, and assembly of components; preparation, coating or removal of materials from surfaces; removal, fitting, and installation of piping.
• You will assist others in performing trade tasks such as handling, storing and disposing of materials.

• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• You will be required to lift items weighing up to sixty (60) pounds, and occasionally over 60 pounds.

The Helper Trainee WG-01 position prepares you for marine industrial careers. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
