Principal PreSales Systems Engineer - HPE Networking (Southern California) (Burbank)

About the Role

Remote/Teleworker position located in Southern California. Principal Pre‑Sales Systems Engineer for HPE Networking, responsible for managing pre‑sales technical support to prospective clients and global major customers, presenting and articulating HPE Network Solutions, and working with Territory Managers to qualify opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Manage account and partner responsibilities for selected (Global Major) accounts in the assigned territory.
• Provide optimal combination of hardware, software, and services to meet complex customer needs.
• Play a role in the development of the bid, proposal, and presentation of the solution to prospects.
• Provide specific solutions, technology, and sales support for accounts in the assigned territory.
• Deliver technical presentations to customers, partners, and prospects.
• Manage channel partners to drive business and deliver demand generation events.
• Develop account relationships over time to continue to deliver advice to the customer and identify additional opportunities; maintain and manage a sales pipeline and forecasts against regional goals.
• Possess competitive knowledge including solution, technology, and product offerings.
• Provide consultative support to key internal and external stakeholders.
• Use in‑depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and customers through presentations and product demonstrations.
• Prepare detailed product specifications for development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions.
• Create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions.
• Build a proof of concept based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client.
• Provide consultation to prospective users and product capability assessment and validation.

Experience and Qualifications

• 10+ years of infrastructure engineering and pre‑sales support experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, presentation, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
• Customer‑focused with ability to design and manage solutions to complex technical issues.
• Ability to interface with senior levels of internal and external organizations.
• Extensive knowledge of Aruba Networking or Juniper Mist Networking.
• Strong routing and switching expertise.
• Networking security experience.
• Experience with NAC (Clearpass, ISE, Cloud NAC, Juniper Access Assurance).
• Wireless design, deployment, and troubleshooting skills.
• Pre and post wireless site survey knowledge (e.g., Ekahau or Hamina).
• Knowledge of CWNA, CWDP, CWSP preferred.

Compensation

Annual salary range: USD 199,000 – 411,500 in California, based on experience and qualifications. Base salary and target‑level sales compensation composition is 75%/25%.
