Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Receiver to support our manufacturing and warehouse operations in Norwood, MA.

The Receiver will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, documenting, and processing incoming materials, components, and shipments. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring materials are properly identified and routed, and supporting production schedules.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in receiving, warehouse operations, inventory control, or materials management, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and system requirements.

• Inspect incoming materials for damage, quantity discrepancies, and other quality concerns.

• Accurately enter receiving transactions into the company's ERP or inventory management system.

• Label, identify, and properly route materials to designated warehouse or production locations.

• Work closely with Purchasing, Quality, Production, and Logistics teams to resolve receiving discrepancies.

• Perform cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.

• Maintain organized warehouse storage areas and ensure materials are stored appropriately.

• Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.

• Prepare and maintain receiving documentation, records, and other required paperwork.

• Assist with shipping, inventory control, material movement, and general warehouse activities as needed.

• Follow all company safety, quality, housekeeping, and material-handling procedures.

• Support a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 2+ years of experience in receiving, warehouse operations, inventory control, materials management, or a related field.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.

• Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory management software, and barcode scanning systems.

• Ability to accurately read and interpret purchase orders, packing slips, shipping documentation, and related records.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to identify discrepancies and follow through to resolution.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous forklift experience or current forklift certification.

• Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems .

• Knowledge of inventory control and materials management processes.

• Experience working directly with Purchasing, Quality, Production, or Logistics teams.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with established safety and quality procedures.
