Pay & Benefits The starting pay range for this position per hour is $23.75 - $25.75. The full pay range for this position per hour is $23.75 - $40.40. Pay is based on several factors, including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Benefits eligibility information: Job Description – Assets Protection Specialist Assets Protection (AP) teams keep guests, team members, and the brand secure. They lead through crisis events, protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing theft and fraud, and ensuring product availability for guests. They also build relationships with store leaders and public safety officials. Key responsibilities include: Using surveillance and intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure while aiding in the reduction of shortage. Monitoring guests and identifying potential theft risks using Target’s video surveillance system. Implementing Target’s Assets Protection practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortage. Documenting cases properly and effectively. Identifying strategic resolutions for external theft and fraud, and apprehending offenders. Providing a friendly guest experience by greeting guests, assisting them, and ensuring a smooth shopping experience. Supporting store sales, guest service and increasing profitability by ensuring product is in stock and available to guests, preventing and resolving theft. Resolving theft in shortage focus areas and conducting apprehensions per AP policies. Identifying theft trends through technology, reporting, and surveillance tactics. Preventing theft by gathering intelligence and communicating important issues. Understanding and appropriately using video systems to monitor theft activity. Responding to security incidents and submitting appropriate documentation following AP policy and procedures. Promoting a physical security and safety culture by creating awareness and training safe and secure standards. Demonstrating inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences. Working safely, complying with all safety policies, reporting hazards, and correcting them where possible. Maintaining relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement, including participation in legal proceedings as needed. Performing all other duties based on business needs. Qualifications Minimum 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent. Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position. Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members. Effective communication skills, including use of multiple frequency devices and handheld scanners. Work both independently and with a team. Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently. Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes. Capability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift. Flexibility to work a flexible schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times). Physical Demands & Requirements Climb up and down ladders. Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy. Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds without additional assistance from others. Be able to work in and be exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties. Be mobile during scheduled shift; shift length may vary.
