Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN

Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) on a PRN basis, supporting Occupational Therapists in designing and implementing programs that aid patients in regaining physical and mental stability. This role involves working closely with patients across all age groups, from newborns to geriatrics, to evaluate needs and deliver personalized care plans aimed at achieving optimal outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists to plan and conduct therapeutic programs.
• Maintain compliance with privacy regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies.
• Perform duties within the scope of practice as defined by certification standards.
• Accurately assess patient needs and implement comprehensive care plans.
• Educate patients on care procedures and therapeutic goals.
• Complete timely and precise documentation in accordance with organizational policies.

General Responsibilities

Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department's mission and patient care excellence.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not include supervisory or management duties.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education meeting certification requirements at the time of issue.
• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through the appropriate state board.
• Valid BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation.
• Driver's license and auto insurance meeting state requirements if driving is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar healthcare environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Fundamental understanding of Occupational Therapy principles.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements

This role involves medium work, including occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent standing or walking for 26-50% of the workday. Accommodations may be provided as needed.
