Surgical First Assistant

Serves as a surgical first assistant or surgical-support technician to staff Urologists for major and minor urologic procedures.

Performs sterile field maintenance, instrument handling, and tissue retraction.

Prepares outpatient records using an automated systems for patient-accounting procedures.

Prepares exam rooms, equipment, and patients for specialized outpatient urological procedures.

Educates patients on procedural preparation, post-op care, catheter maintenance, and self-injection techniques.

Coordinates internal and external Military Treatment Facility (MTF) patient referrals.
