We would love for you to become a member of our team!Per diem requires commitment of two shifts per month.We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care or emergency room experience, treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region.Job SummaryUrgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.Job RequirementsEducationBachelor's Degree required for Physician AssistantsMaster's Degree required for Nurse PractitionersWork ExperienceTwo to five years of post-residency clinical experience requiredMinimum 18 months experience in applicable practice settingAdult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferredRequired Licenses/CertificationsNational CertificationActive state medical licensureAdditional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredWork experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room settingApplicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities PreferredKnowledge and experience with Electronic Medical RecordsAbility to be attentive with strong listening skillsStrong communication and customer service skillsEssential FunctionsEssential functions are those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job's purpose and objectives. Following are the essential functions of the job.Examining and treating patientsTaking patients' medical historiesOrdering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-raysMaking diagnoses and prescribing medicationsTreating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or castingRecording progress notes for follow-up patientsEducating and counseling patientsOrdering and/or carrying out therapy with patientsGiving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional careEach provider will work an anticipated four (4), eight (8), or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent CareAll other duties as assignedConnect with us:Have questions or need more information?
