Graduation from an accreditied Expanded Duty Dental Assisting Program

*Open Door Health Services is seeking a full-time Expanded Duty Dental Assistant for our Dental Clinic.
As an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant, you will uphold our Mission, Vision, and Values. In this position you perform a variety of patient care activities to provide clinical support and assistance to dentists. Assists in the delivery of dental care and patient care management.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Open Door Health Services provides comprehensive primary, urgent, preventive, and select specialty services and social support programs for individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay. Places and completes restoration specified by the dentist.
Assist patients in-patient flow through the clinic and escorts patients to operatory rooms.
Obtains preliminary dental history and prepares patients for dentist's complete examination.
Be able to react calmly in emergency situations
Be able to learn to use and update electronic health records and other online systems
High School diploma or GED equivalence.
Graduation from an accredited Expanded Duty Dental Assisting Program.
Two years of work experience, preferably in a fast-paced, high volume, comprehensive care setting.
Training equivalent to an accredited Expanded Duty Dental Assisting Program.
Certification as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant preferred.

Physical and Environmental Requirements
Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to clinic environment.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range or use of approved adaptive equipment.
