Food Service Worker

Under the direction of the Food Services Supervisor, perform a variety of duties involved in preparing and serving food as required for Head Start program activities; clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and facilities.

Requirements / Qualifications

Under the direction of the Food Services Supervisor, perform a variety of duties involved in preparing and serving food as required for Head Start program activities; clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and facilities. Minimum qualifications: Education and/or Training: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Two years experience in a high production kitchen. Credentials and/or Skills: Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment, utensils and measurements; sanitation and safety practices related to cooking and serving food; methods of preparing foods and serving food in large quantities; safe work practices. Ability to operate kitchen equipment used in quantity food preparation safely and efficiently; maintain records related to assigned activities. Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform the required duties. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Proof of valid CA driver's license and minimum amount of liability insurance required by law. DMV H-6 printout required. Satisfactory results from pre-employment strength test required.
