Explore and Grow Cook/Nutritionist

Responsible to: Ministry Director

Working Relationships:  Explore & Grow Team

Scope of Position:  The nutritionist purchases food, prepares meals, and delivers meals to the classrooms.  He or she also maintains the kitchen.

Time Commitment:  Full-Time 40 hours per week. Hours: 7am-3pm M-F                Classification: Hourly, non-exempt

Typical Duties:

• Develop and post menus for the center that comply with the State Food Program guidelines
• Purchase the food with the approval of the Ministry Director and submit all invoices to the office
• Prepare and deliver the food to the classrooms within a time frame that is able to be served at an appropriate temperature and in sufficient quantities
• Maintain a sanitary kitchen
• Properly clean kitchen equipment as needed
• Assist teachers in the classroom at given times, if needed
• Unload deliveries and stock the kitchen
• Attend training and workshops for nutrition

Position Requirements:

• Must have a love and willingness to serve children and their families.
• Must be a committed Christian living a life of obedience to Christ.
• Must be 18
• Minimum educational requirement set forth by the State of Michigan Department of Childcare Licensing
• CPR training, Blood Borne Pathogen Training Annually
• State required training and professional development
