Onsite Community Association Manager

The Genesee Foundation, a self-managed homeowners’ association for the larger Genesee community, in the foothills of Jefferson County, Colorado, is seeking a dynamic, personable, self-motivated, action-oriented Facilities Manager. Genesee exists in harmony with the area’s mountain setting and 1,200 acres of dedicated open space, 12 miles of hiking trails, forest land, and abundant wildlife, with amenities including three clubhouses, one playground, two outdoor pools, four tennis courts, a well-equipped fitness center, 2 pickle ball courts, and miles of trails and private drives. When priorities conflict, staff seeks common sense solutions with the Community Manager’s counsel if necessary. The Community Manager leads nine full-time and additional seasonal employees. General Responsibilities/Functions: The Community Manager leads five full-time and additional seasonal employees. Communicate and foster positive relationships with all key stakeholders, including Board, community members, committees and governmental entities (including the Fire, Water and Ambulance Districts), vendors / service providers, and organizations which play important roles within or adjacent to the community. Manage relationships with community members to respond to questions and concerns, engender trust and be courteous, helpful and effective in providing service to residents. Work with and utilize member talents in the management of the Foundation. Ensure maintenance of Foundation facilities and Open Space in a first class, safe, and attractive condition. Interact and provide leadership, support and administrative help to standing operational committees such as Finance, Governance, Open Space, Fire & Safety, Communications, Facilities, Fitness and Social & Recreation. Assists in creation and/or modification of policies, procedures and rules and regulations. Organize and implement numerous community social events. Prepare initial annual budget for review by the Finance Committee. Provide financial information in a timely manner to Foundation accounting contractor and Finance Committee. Manage and maintain outside provider contracts. Administer an effective insurance program, including liability, risk management, and employee benefits. Inform the Board of Foundation needs, opportunities, problems and successes. Assist, support, and/or coordinate activities of Board. Conduct Foundation business to be in compliance with Federal, State, and local government laws and regulations. Team management: Lead a staff of eight full-time and numerous seasonal employees. Responsible for hiring, supervising, development, and retention of competent, qualified staff. Ensure Foundation staff perform their jobs efficiently and effectively and respond to members of the community in a positive and helpful manner. Provide regular performance feedback to staff, quickly addressing any performance issues, and proposing commensurate compensation for BOD approval. Develop and maintain a strong, respectful, values-based culture among the staff and operational stakeholders. Oversees long range property/community planning, in conjunction with the Board in order to ensure the continuity, improvement and growth of the association’s assets. Skills Required : Leadership ability with a vision for the future of Genesee as well as sound, practical judgment. Determination and drive to work for the long-term to improve Genesee. Ability to interact well with members, guests, the general public and fellow employees; exemplary customer service skills a must. Discretion and good judgment which is adaptable and versatile. Effective listening and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, supervisory and conflict resolution skills. Initiative and ability to operate independently. Strong team leadership and people management skills. 8 or more years of progressively responsible experience in community management positions or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Certification as a Professional Community Association Manager Salary Range: $110,000-$135,000 Paid vacation, holidays and sick time, retirement benefits after one year, health benefits after 2 full months of employment.
