Job Title: Structural MIG Welder


Location: Detroit, MI


Position Type: Full-Time


Shift: 1st shift: 7am-3:30pm


Pay: $20 or more based on experience


About Us: Since 1990, the company has grown from a staff of two to a workforce of more than 40 employees. The shop has been expanded to a twenty thousand square foot facility.


Job Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled Fitter in Detroit, MI. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing structural components according to blueprints and specifications. This position requires a strong attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout requirements
• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using various tools and equipment
• Fabricate and assemble metal components by welding, bolting, riveting, or soldering methods
• Inspect fabricated components to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
• Perform repairs or modifications to existing structures as needed
• Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Fitter or similar role
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques
• Ability to operate various hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
