Human Resources Coordinator (HRC)

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital - Phoenix, a joint venture with Select Medical & Banner Health, is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator (HRC) in Phoenix, AZ. This full-time, on-site position is available Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with a salary range of $60K-$75K.

This is a hands-on, hospital-based HR Coordinator role for someone who wants to be close to the work- supporting caregivers, leaders, and operations; while partnering closely with our HR Shared Services team.

Responsibilities

As the on-site HR Coordinator, you serve as the primary HR presence in the hospital, coordinating the full scope of HR operations in close collaboration with centralized HR partners. You are both a trusted resource for employees and leaders and a key connector between the hospital and enterprise HR functions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, balancing operational execution with relationship-building, and learning how HR strategy comes to life in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

• Own and coordinate day-to-day HR operations at the hospital level, ensuring high-quality execution across the employee lifecycle
• Partner closely with HR Shared Services to deliver seamless support in payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, employee data, and HR administration
• Serve as a trusted advisor and service-oriented resource for employees and leaders
• Coordinate and support accurate payroll processing, timekeeping, and data integrity
• Drive and support talent acquisition efforts, including hiring coordination, onboarding, and workforce planning support
• Maintain compliance with employment laws, licensing requirements, and regulatory standards
• Act as the local subject matter expert for benefits, policies, and HR processes
• Support employee relations needs with professionalism, discretion, and consistency
• Play an active role in building and sustaining a positive, high-performing workplace culture
• Contribute insights that help shape HR strategy and operational effectiveness at the hospital level

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field, or a combination of education and experience required
• Two or more years of experience in Human Resources
• Competency in Microsoft Office suite, as well as computer applications relating to Human Resources Functions required

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to a broad range of functions required. Previous HR experience in a health care facility with exposure to Joint Commission, and CMS preferred
• Familiarity with benefit administration, basic HR functions, Payroll Administration, and state and federal employment laws
• Must be detail-oriented with expertise in problem solving, observation, group dynamics, and interpersonal relations
