Position Overview Supervises all levels of unit personnel on assigned shifts and adjusts staff schedules based on departmental needs while maintaining equitable distribution of assignments. Ensures proper utilization of equipment, supplies, and facilities for maintaining patient care. Monitors clinical management of patient care delivery area to produce quality patient care with optimal outcomes. Ensure proper utilization of equipment, supplies, and facilities for patient care. Monitor clinical management of patient care delivery area to produce high‑quality outcomes. Collaborate with nursing and medical personnel to coordinate care, develop patient care plans, and resolve patient, family, and staff concerns promptly. Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, resolve conflicts, and provide guidance to staff. Apply clinical standards, guidelines, and pathways, continuously improving care practices. Participate in quality improvement processes and support evidence‑based trend analysis. Act as a clinical resource and mentor to staff, fostering professional development through continuing education and peer review. Minimum Requirements Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Experience: Three years job‑related experience in a hospital‑care setting; six months of demonstrated competency in a charge role. Clinical and management support practice required in patient care area. Credentials & Certifications AHA BLS Healthcare Provider, Registered Nurse - NJ ATCN or TNCC (or obtain within 1year of hire) 8 hours of trauma‑related continuing nursing education contact hours annually if assigned to RMC ICU/CCU, RMC Surgical Trauma Unit, RMC PACU, Emergency Department (all campuses) NIH Stroke Scale Certification (or obtain by end of orientation) 8 hours of stroke‑related continuing nursing education contact hours annually if assigned to Critical Care, Intermediate Care Unit, Emergency Department, Neuro Units, Cardiology Inpatient at Hopewell, Peds ED, PACU, Interventional Radiology, CNI, Observation, Hospital at Home CPR Requirements: Requires ACLS (or obtain within 6 months) if assigned to Critical Care/Intermediate/Telemetry, Emergency Rooms, Pediatrics/Pediatrics Emergency Room, Labor & Delivery, Surgical Services (not perioperative), Interventional Procedures, Observation. Requires NRP (or obtain within 6 months) if assigned to Maternity Services. Requires PALS (or obtain within 6 months) if assigned to Emergency Rooms, Infant Follow‑Up, Surgical Services (only PACU & Same Day Surgery), Pediatrics/Pediatric ED. Physical Demands and Work Environment Frequent physical demands include standing, walking, carrying objects, pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, reaching forward and overhead, and fine motor activities. Occasional physical demands include sitting, climbing stairs or ladders, squatting/kneeling/crawling, wrist position deviation, and keyboard use. Continuous physical demands include talking or hearing. Lifting floor to waist 50 lbs, waist level and above 10 lbs. Sensory requirements: accurate near and far vision, color discrimination, moderate depth perception, accurate hearing.
