Special Events Manager

Job Opportunities The City of Fredericksburg is accepting applications for a Special Events Manager. This position serves as the City's primary liaison for special events held on City property, working directly with outside event organizers to guide them through the City’s special event permitting process and ensure compliance with applicable City requirements, policies, procedures, and regulations. The position coordinates with event organizers, City departments, and other stakeholders regarding event logistics, permits, public safety, traffic and parking, facilities, insurance, and other operational needs. In addition, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating, organizing, and executing City-sponsored and City-hosted special events. This includes developing event plans and timelines, coordinating vendors and contractors, securing necessary services and resources, managing event logistics, promoting events, and working with internal departments and community partners to ensure successful and well-organized events. Regular work hours are Tuesday through Saturday, including evenings. Some Sundays will be required. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years of related experience; OR Associate degree, plus six years of related experience; OR high school diploma/GED, plus 8 years of related experience is required.
