Health Information Management Clerk (Part Time)

Medical Records Clerk
To support the medical records department through variety of clerical, technical and related support services.
Pay Range: $23/hr. to $27/hr.
Work Schedule: Varied Days
Essential functions
- Sort and file dictated reports in unit charts and discharge charts.
- Retrieve discharge charts and thinned records from nursing units.
- Assemble IP and OP discharged charts according to chart order.
- File thinned records in patient's discharge charts.
- Verify patient's information is correct on all reports in the medical records.
- Audit discharge charts for missing written reports, dictations, unsigned orders and other chart forms.
- Flag deficiency with appropriate color coded physician flags.
- Enter deficiency in computer, print deficiency form and file in chart.
- Clear deficiency in computer once completed by physician.
- Assist with phone inquiries, request and release of copies of medical records.
- Retrieve charts for physicians and other staff.
