Chipton-Ross is seeking a Shipfitting Trainer 4 for a contract opportunity in Charleston, SC.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

o High School diploma or equivalent and 7 years additional education and/or related experience; Apprentice graduate/ Associate's Degree in relevant discipline and 5 years of related experience. May require certification.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for development and delivery of training materials on company products, processes and technologies so as to ensure that team members develop, maintain, and increase their own technical and/or process knowledge. Provides orientation and training on new course materials. Selects appropriate training aids. Prepares lesson plans relevant to training material. May monitor training personnel records to ensure that employees have met all company training requirements for company and regulatory compliance. Analyzes course evaluations in order to judge effectiveness of training sessions and to implement suggestions for improvements.

Will provide instruction and demonstrate ship fitting fundamentals including layouts, fits and alignments with prefabricated cast and forged components prior to welding. Performs fitting and machining operations such as straighten, grind, burr, drill, ream, and countersink materials to close tolerances. Refers to general instructions to select equipment, set up, and lay out materials to be welded. May repair or rework parts to restore to required tolerances which have become distorted as a result of welding operations. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

o 3-5 Years Specific Ship Fitting Experience / 1-3 years in a lead or training capacity.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Degree must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:

5/40 workweek. First Shift 6:00AM-2:30 PM.
