POSITION DESCRIPTION

Perform general cooking and baking duties under the direct supervision of the Building Manager or his/her designee.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepare and cook meats, fish, gravies, casseroles, vegetables, cereals, soups, fruit, and other food items according to standardized recipes in a timely and efficient manner.
2. Prepare and cook entrees as required.
3. Prepare and cook foods for special diets as required.
4. Assist in the guidance of student workers in the performance of their responsibilities.
5. Assist in the preparation of salads and desserts.
6. Prepare and bake cakes, pies, and hot breads as required.
7. Serve and replenish foods as needed.
8. clean and sanitize kitchen, and wash and sanitize kitchen utensils and equipment.
9. Prevent food contamination by proper handling, cooking, refrigeration, and thawing.
10. Maintain related production records.
11. Suggest new menu items and recipe revisions.
12. Maintain appearance and hygiene within stated Auxiliary Services and governmental guidelines.
13. Perform duties in accordance with established safety practices.
14. Perform other similar or related tasks.
