POSITION DESCRIPTION
Perform general cooking and baking duties under the direct supervision of the Building Manager or his/her designee.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and cook meats, fish, gravies, casseroles, vegetables, cereals, soups, fruit, and other food items according to standardized recipes in a timely and efficient manner.
- Prepare and cook entrees as required.
- Prepare and cook foods for special diets as required.
- Assist in the guidance of student workers in the performance of their responsibilities.
- Assist in the preparation of salads and desserts.
- Prepare and bake cakes, pies, and hot breads as required.
- Serve and replenish foods as needed.
- clean and sanitize kitchen, and wash and sanitize kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Prevent food contamination by proper handling, cooking, refrigeration, and thawing.
- Maintain related production records.
- Suggest new menu items and recipe revisions.
- Maintain appearance and hygiene within stated Auxiliary Services and governmental guidelines.
- Perform duties in accordance with established safety practices.
- Perform other similar or related tasks.
