PAY: Up to $35/hr depending on experience.

Job Description

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, graders, rollers, and dump trucks. You will perform essential tasks including excavation, grading, trenching, lifting, and site preparation according to project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment efficiently and safely.
• Perform excavation, grading, trenching, lifting, and site preparation activities.
• Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and site layouts.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as lubrication, fueling, and cleaning equipment.
• Assist with general labor tasks as needed on job sites.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in operating multiple types of heavy equipment.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physical stamina to sit, stand, climb, and lift as required.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and safety-focused.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction or related industries.
• Knowledge of equipment capabilities, limitations, and safe operating procedures.
• Ability to read plans, grades, and project specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Experience with inspecting equipment before and after use to ensure safe operation.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Downey, CA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
