Summary: Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in a dynamic medical surgical telemetry unit. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and follow patient care plans tailored to age-specific physiological needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in patient assessments and maintain accurate, relevant records of care.
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and ensure a safe environment for patients.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to life-threatening situations.
• Engage in performance improvement activities and support cost containment efforts.
• Establish collaborative relationships with healthcare staff and support patients' cultural and spiritual practices within medical guidelines.
• Contribute to customer satisfaction, patient throughput, and hospital capacity initiatives.

Education and Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a Compact state or equivalent.

Experience: Hospital experience preferred, with a focus on medical surgical and telemetry care.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Understanding of age-specific physiological and psychosocial patient needs.

Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate effectively, observe patients closely, and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods. May involve exposure to blood or infectious materials.

Patient Population: Acute respiratory and cardiac disorders, renal disease, neurological conditions, pre- and post-surgical care, cardiac dysrhythmias, and related medical conditions.
