Plant Quality Engineer

Overview Plant Quality Engineer (PQE) - Responsible for all aspects of product conformity for their systems / components at the Toledo Assembly Complex. The PQE reports to the PQE Lead and collaborates with salaried and hourly assembly plant/corporate personnel to complete projects within their area of responsibility. Responsibilities Validating product changes, providing technical expertise, and improving outgoing quality to meet or exceed customer expectations. Responding to manufacturing quality issues with integrity and managing all product changes. Supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives within the plant using advanced problem-solving methods and SPW kaizen methodology. Collaborating with cross-functional manufacturing teams and facilitating consensus to drive action from main stakeholders. Supporting external quality KPI management to achieve targets and drive corrective actions and escalation as needed. Reviewing warranty/CQI claims daily, maintaining issue stratification, and managing the Warranty Wall portion responsible for their area. Leading improvement activities in vehicle quality by addressing nonconformities to product quality targets (SCA, VLO, BSR, and TDF) to assigned targets. Supporting Corporate Quality objectives/deliverables and communicating requirements to all groups involved to ensure goals are achieved. Collaborating with internal and external resources to achieve project/program timing. Leading teams to identify issues/risks associated with product designs, processes, and applications using FMEA and other risk assessment tools. Location 4400 Chrysler Drive, Toledo, Ohio 43608, United States Requirements Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university (other engineering degrees with relevant experience may be considered) Well versed in both Microsoft and Google applications Ability to perform data analysis to identify top issues, summarize trends, distinctions, and effectiveness of corrective actions and continuous improvement activities Effective presentation/public speaking skills (comfortable presenting to all levels of the organization) Experience with problem solving tools Able to demonstrate coaching and teaching abilities Self-motivated and directed Ability to thrive in a high-intensity environment while working on multiple projects A passion for spending time on the shop floor and understanding the build process from a 4M1D standpoint (man, method, machine, material, and design) Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Degree Reactive Green Belt / Black Belt Certification Previous experience in resolving complex issues including root cause and repairs Previous experience in Product Engineering and/or Vehicle Integration / Development at supplier or Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturer Previous Manufacturing and/or Quality experience within a vehicle/Component assembly plant Employment Type Full-time About Stellantis At Stellantis, we assess candidates based on qualifications, merit, and business needs.
