Interested individuals can learn more at Role Description The Staff Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Chicago Area. This role is responsible for performing daily accounting activities, including recording journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Staff Accountant will assist with month-end and year-end close processes, prepare and analyze financial reports, and support budgeting and forecasting activities. Responsibilities also include processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, monitoring cost allocations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The role collaborates closely with operations, finance leadership, and other departments to provide timely, reliable financial information that supports business decisions. Qualifications Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise systems; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes in a corporate or manufacturing environment. Ability to analyze financial data, identify variances, and prepare clear, accurate reports for management. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance and operations teams. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus. Familiarity with cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing industry experience is beneficial.
