This position requires evaluating student progress in attaining goals, objectives, and learning outcomes for the Dental Hygiene program. This position will also require ensuring all safety and security requirements are met during training sessions. Additional Duties include maintaining program accreditation requirements, preparing and maintaining all the necessary documentation and administrative reports, attending advisory committee meetings, and completing all mandatory staff development training. This position is part-time/exempt.Please note the following information regarding this position:May be required to teach high school studentsMay require teaching on or off campus throughout our service delivery area (Muscogee County, Stewart County, Quitman County, Chattahoochee County, Harris County, and Talbot County)May require travelResponsibilities:Instruct students in the Dental Hygiene ProgramFollow state standards in developing the program and course outlines, goals, and objectivesMaintains and applies current knowledge of the program’s accrediting body, the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)Maintains student records and attendance in an orderly mannerEvaluate student’s progress in competency areas as well as attain goals and objectivesDevelop teaching methods and maintain management procedures and documentationMeet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the studentsEnsure safety and security requirements are met in the training areasMaintain program certification requirements as appropriateStrong time management and organization skillsEffective written and oral communicationMaintains ethical standards, i.e., student confidentiality, honesty, HIPAA, OSHA standards, etc.Continues Education and professional developmentMaintains positive interaction with other instructors and professional staffKeen observation, supervision, and evaluation skillsGeneral Computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Blackboard)Other job-related duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsA Current Georgia Dental Hygiene State License or Georgia Dental Hygiene Teaching LicensePossess a baccalaureate or higher in dental hygiene or a related fieldGraduate of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart AssociationMinimum of three years of clinical experience as a hygienistThe ability to teach Dental Hygiene didactic, clinical, and laboratory courses at the collegiate levelExcellent interpersonal skills and communication skillsProficient with current computer applicationsSalary/Benefits:Pay rate is commensurate with education and experience, no benefits.Application Deadline:Applications accepted until filled.
