CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Medical Excellence & Patient Advocacy Deliver compassionate, high‑quality medical care that aligns with AAHA, AVMA, & AAFP standards. Monitor patient safety and well‑being before, during, and after procedures. Escalate medical concerns promptly and professionally. Technical & Clinical Support Perform diagnostic testing, treatments, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical assistance within your legal scope. Maintain sterile, organized treatment and surgical areas. Prepare and maintain accurate, detailed patient records. Client Communication & Education Help clients understand their pet’s health, treatment plans, and preventive care. Provide clear, compassionate guidance and reassurance during visits. Support a consistent and trusted experience for every client. Lead with professionalism, mentoring assistants and other paraprofessionals. Communicate clearly with doctors and teammates to maintain patient flow and operational efficiency. Support front desk or client service functions when needed. Hospital Operations & Safety Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and teamwork in all aspects of the job. Follow all safety protocols for pets, clients, and staff. Ensure all hospital spaces remain clean, organized, and fully stocked. QUALIFICATIONS Veterinary technician certification or licensure required (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT). Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program, or equivalent education and experience. One year or more of clinical experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communication in English. Competency with practice software and Microsoft Office tools. Comfort handling dogs, cats, and other companion animals safely and compassionately. Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography or exposure to radioactive substances. WORK SETTING This is a hands‑on, active clinical role that requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, and direct animal handling. You will work around surgical and diagnostic equipment, use PPE, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance or equipment. Noise levels vary based on patient load.
