POSITION TITLE: Engineer, Application Development

The Engineer, Application Development is a mid-level individual contributor responsible for configuring, developing, administering, and supporting ASSP’s core application platforms, including NimbleAMS (built on Salesforce) and integrations with third-party systems. The Engineer executes defined technical workstreams, participates in solution design, and contributes to the ongoing health and improvement of ASSP’s application platforms under the direction of senior technical leadership. The position requires strong NimbleAMS and Salesforce skills, interest in integration and automation, and the ability to translate requirements into effective solutions that support member engagement, operational efficiency, and data-informed decision-making.

This position is open to candidates located in Illinois. While most work is performed remotely, the role requires periodic on-site presence at our headquarters in Park Ridge, Illinois, for meetings, collaboration, and organizational needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to:

• Administer, maintain, and optimize the NimbleAMS and Salesforce environments, including platform configuration, security, user support, reporting, and system functionality to support business operations and user needs.
• Develop, maintain, and support Salesforce solutions using declarative and programmatic tools, including flows, validation rules, Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and data queries.
• Support integrations between enterprise systems and applications to ensure reliable data flow, interoperability, and system effectiveness.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, upgrades, releases, and production support to maintain stable and reliable platform operations.
• Maintain data integrity, support data governance and hygiene efforts, and assist with deduplication, reporting accuracy, and ongoing system quality improvements.
• Create, maintain, and optimize automated workflows, business processes, reports, and dashboards to improve operational efficiency and support business decision-making.
• Partner with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to gather requirements, resolve issues, prioritize enhancements, and implement solutions aligned with organizational priorities.
• Contribute to technical planning, solution design, implementation activities, and project execution within established standards and priorities.
• Provide application support, technical guidance, and user assistance related to platform functionality, configuration, and enterprise systems.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system knowledge resources while supporting compliance, security, governance, and continuity practices.
• Support the onboarding, administration, and maintenance of enterprise SaaS applications to ensure effective adoption and operational alignment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Solid proficiency in Salesforce administration and declarative development, including flows, validation rules, custom objects, and data management.
• Experience with Salesforce programmatic development including Apex classes and triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and SOQL.
• Proficiency in NimbleAMS or a Salesforce-based association management system, with demonstrated experience supporting AMS administration and configuration in a live environment.
• Experience building or maintaining system integrations using APIs (REST/SOAP) or automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power BI) and cloud-based integration concepts.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and web platforms from an integration and data exchange perspective.
• Ability to translate clear business requirements into well-structured technical solutions with appropriate documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a genuine commitment to data quality.
• Effective communication skills with both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and adaptable, with an interest in continuous learning and keeping current with platform updates.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products and applications.

• Full-time position with the ability to work M-F during normal business hours. May be expected to occasionally work outside of normal business hours

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Salesforce administration, application development, AMS administration, or a related technical role.
• Demonstrated ability to independently deliver configured and developed solutions in a Salesforce or SaaS application environment.
• Experience in the association, nonprofit, or mission-driven sector preferred.
• Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Platform App Builder, or similar) preferred.

COMPENSATION:

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location. We target most new hire offers between the minimum up to the middle of the range .
