Housekeeping Supervisor

Oversee the Housekeeping Department at Harrington Park Health & Rehab, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and compliance with privacy, security, and health regulations. Responsibilities Plan, develop, organize, and direct all Housekeeping Department functions, including personnel and administrative aspects. Establish and maintain effective inter‑departmental communication to foster positive working relationships. Ensure compliance with all Privacy & Security programs. Supervise and provide guidance to housekeeping personnel, including appropriate corrective action that is fair, uniform, and non‑discriminatory. Instruct and demonstrate proper housekeeping techniques. Maintain staffing patterns in accordance with staffing budgets. Review, respond to, and report patient or family complaints and grievances related to the department. Assist with the preparation and oversight of the annual nursing center budget within established budget restraints. Maintain knowledge of current licensure standards and the survey process. Greet new patients upon admission and provide support or assistance as needed. Provide hands‑on assistance in department functions and be available to assist with any emergency. Promote the system’s image and reputation through servant leadership and open communication. Contribute to committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts across the system. Perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the system. Skills & Abilities Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Warm, friendly greeting and approachable attitude towards associates, patients, family members, and visitors. Ability to respond to concerns with a helpful, caring demeanor. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or its equivalent (preferred). Supervisory Responsibilities Responsible for the supervision of housekeeping department associates. Language Skills Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or associates. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram format. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Application Skills Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.
