Position: CNC Machinist II - Turning Location: Montville, NJ Job Id: 2009-887-27-R-B # of Openings: 1 Overview This position’s primary responsibility is to set‑up and operate a variety of CNC Turning Centers including single, dual spindle, single and dual turret, Swiss type, gang tool, and conversation control machines to produce high quality – close tolerance products safely and efficiently to meet operational requirements. The candidate’s expertise will be applied proactively utilizing best practices when conducting documentation review, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, equipment set‑up/operation and component inspection. The incumbent must be able to multi‑task and perform various machine shop related activities in compliance with regulatory, safety, and administrative company requirements. This position requires effective interaction with a broad spectrum of people within the organization to support operations and the corporate strategic vision. Skills / Experience 5+ years of experience operating precision CNC Turning Centers in an efficient, safe, and consistent manner (Aerospace manufacturing preferred). High school diploma, GED, or vocational/technical equivalent. Self‑motivated with ability to analyze, organize, plan, multi‑task and achieve results through interaction with others. Math skills to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, tool/ set‑up sheets, procedures, ECNs, routers. Effective verbal and written communication at all levels. Knowledgeable in GT&D practices, inspection methods, measuring equipment utilization, root‑cause investigations, troubleshooting, and performance metrics. Commitment to company values, strategic plan, and vision. Creative thinking related to machine shop processes. Must be a U.S. citizen. Additional Duties / Responsibilities Bring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Adhere to all safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies and procedures. Contribute to a positive work environment through effective communication at all levels. Participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives, and support actions to drive company goals. Assist in training personnel to perform required technical tasks. Keep management informed of area activities and significant problems. Accept related responsibilities as required. Maintain a clean, secure, and well‑organized work area. Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required. Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fluids, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise, and vibration. Use standard office equipment (computer, phone, photocopier, filing cabinets, fax machine) and wear required personal protection. Be aware of temperature variations due to outside conditions. Overtime and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. No travel required. Physical Requirements Regularly required to talk and hear. Frequently required to reach, handle, and feel with hands and arms. Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus. Regularly required to stand 7–8 hours daily, sit, walk, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and move about the facility. May lift items up to 40 pounds, occasionally up to 70 pounds. Citizenship Requirement Proof of U.S. citizenship is required, and employees are required to provide such proof and any necessary export licensing documents as part of initial and ongoing employment. Compensation Pay Range: $26.00–$34.00 per hour.
